That COVID-19 has had a profound impact on us all is beyond dispute. Many lost their businesses, jobs and even education. The pandemic forced most hotels, beaches, malls and theaters as well universities around the world to shut down and move their educational activities on online platforms.  Some workers needed to work at home too. We were not ready but we had to adapt and knowing how to be productive at home during pandemic can really be valuable.

Unforeseen events should always have a plan and knowing how to be productive at home can be very helpful at this daunting time. Also, not known to a lot is that there are already tons of things we can do at home to help us not only be productive but make money at the same time! These can make up for lost jobs and businesses. This is the reason why home productivity in the time of COVID comes into play.

I am a work-at-home mom myself and I have been working at home for over a decade now. Therefore, the work-at-home set-up is nothing new to me so I have put together 5 Simple Tips on how to be productive at home during pandemic.

5 SIMPLE TIPS ON HOW TO BE PRODUCTIVE AT HOME DURING PANDEMIC

TIP #1: ESTABLISH A POSITIVE MORNING ROUTINE

Getting up early and eating a healthy breakfast is the best way to begin your day.

Most successful people such as CEOs follow similar morning routines involving exercise and a short review of their inboxes for the most important tasks during the day.

Now even with the work at home set up, the morning routine is still as important (productive morning routine will help with this). Whatever you do, remember to establish good morning habits in order to have a more productive day.

TIP #2: SWITCH TO A PRODUCTIVE MINDSET

Hacking your brain with new habits is the best approach to become more productive right now.

Write down your goals for the day for an instant productivity boost! Doing the hardest things first may help. Avoid social media at all costs – it’s built to keep you hooked! Over 80% of individuals check their alerts within 15 minutes of waking up, according to research. And this can have hurt your productivity throughout the day.

How?

Distractions in the morning set the tone for the rest of the day.

You bombard yourself with information before you’re completely awake, which makes it difficult to prioritize your morning.

To put it another way, you’re constantly blasting your head with new messages and to-dos, causing stress and anxiety!

TIP #3: LEARN A NEW SKILL

OR BRUSH UP ON NEGLECTED HOBBIES

Many studies invoke that learning a new skill is an incredible way to improve our lives and productivity. But in our quest for a wealthier life, even many of us have neglected our skills and hobbies.

Here’s a few things you can start on:

  • Craft items to make at home and sell
  • Going through a course on goal success
  • Or learning a new skill that you can monetize

Make the most of your free time by honing your skills. You might pick up a skill that will help you advance your career or take up a hobby you’ve always wanted to explore.

TIP #4: NETWORK AND FIND OPPORTUNITIES

TO WORK OR DO BUSINESS FROM HOME

Over the last decade, working remotely and launching businesses from home have become increasingly popular. Currently, millions of self-employed people in the United States have implemented home business ideas and work from home on a regular basis.

My journey in remote work started in 2010, it was when I was building my first start-up. Fast forward 10 years later, I’ve racked up over a decade’s worth of remote working secrets.

TIP #5:  REVEL AND REFLECT

Whatever method you use to complete a productive day, make sure to stop and appreciate what you’ve accomplished. It’s essential to reward yourself in order to keep producing excellent work. Furthermore, a reward system is an excellent motivator.

In addition, you should think back on your day to see what worked and what didn’t. Reflection not only boosts future productivity, but it also allows your brain to relax and unwind.

For everyday self-reflection, try this:

CONCLUSION

Being busy does not always imply that you are productive. Define tasks that are valuable in terms of productivity (not merely browsing) and establish timetables for completing them – for example, creating your work profile, applying for a job or setting your home based business.

Think about how you can keep items that aren’t as productive from eating into your day. Contemplate on your daily schedule to and use the right productivity tools for you to become more productive and see your daily progress.

No other time is best to be more productive at home than today!
